Stacey Cameron

CEO / FOUNDER

Stacey Cameron, CEO at CyCam Strategies, is an innovator and visionary force strategically leading people with over 20 years of industry experience in the information security field. Through her wide array of experience and eclectic abilities, Stacey is able to deliver desired outcome with excellence. She has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of MD, Baltimore County and is a proud member of the Meyerhoff Scholars Program Alumni. The Meyerhoff Program is at the forefront of efforts in US universities to increase diversity in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Stacey continues to support the program annually as it continues to grow emerging talent within STEM fields. Over the course of her career, Stacey has supported multiple cyber security firms, private companies, fortune 500 companies, civilian federal agencies (as a contractor and as a federal employee), and Department of Defense (DoD) agencies’ both classified and unclassified environments. These engagements ranged from integration testing, compliance assessments, audits, and risk assessments, to firewall assessments, incident response exercises, physical security assessments and social engineering engagements. All of these experiences allowed Stacey to examine cyber security practices intimately across multiple industries, and cultivate solutions that are not just “best” practices, but “better” practices enterprise-wide.

Stacey’s vast experience includes supporting the following compliance initiatives:

  • DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP)& DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)
  • DISA’s Computer Network Defense Service Provider (CNDSP) Program
  • Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) / NIST 800-53
  • Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)
  • FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)
  • North America Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP)
  • Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS)
  • International Organization for Standardization (ISO 27001/2)
  • Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Service Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2)
  • NIST SP 800-171 (DFARS) – Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations
  • Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Readiness

While working for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) office as an Information Systems Security Officer, Stacey focused her efforts on the management of law enforcement systems. These efforts included developing security requirements for mobile applications, cloud-computing environments, on-premise solutions, interconnected systems and overseeing the security operations of third-party vendors. Stacey was able to work closely with law enforcement to communicate security and compliance requirements, and with the ICE OCIO to communicate the business requirements and achieve compliance with minimum impact to the overall mission objectives. This collaborative approach is a key methodology echoed throughout CyCam consultants’ work with clients to provide tailored solutions when implementing regulatory requirements, policies, and processes.

Stacey founded CyCam to stress the importance of cybersecurity in organizations’ ecosystems and to help organizations meet security and compliance goals.
